Inclusive education of a girl with mild mental disability in elementary school

This bachelor thesis aims to describe the specifics of inclusive education of the elementary school, who was diagnosed with light mental disability. It is the work of theoretical-empirical. The theoretical part characterizes mental disability. It also describes inclusive education and support measures that provide pupils with light mental disabilities. The practical part is processed by the case study method. The aim of the research was to present possible positives and negatives to intergrate the pupil into the common educational stream. The results of this research showed the need to create a suitable stimulating environment for the pupil not only at school but also at home. The education herself should take place in a smaller place in a smaller collective together with intact pupils under the guidance of an experienced pedagogical worker. Furthermore, it is evident from the research that the education of the pupil in the main curriculum is enriching, since mutual interaction has the impact on all participating - so they have the opportunity to learn each other. The pupil with light mental disability has a greater assumption to prepare for life in a real environment in a common educational stream.
